[Need advice] Jio Bank saying only new customers will get Rupay plat DC, asked me to close and reopen

Hi,

As the headline explains, I have years long Jio PB account, I am still stuck with UPI dummy DC. I contacted their CS and got informed that Rupay Plat DC will be available in future for me but not sure when...

They asked me to close existing account and open a new one for immediate issuance. Are they right or just being stupid customer service?
Seeking your valued opinion/advice, what should I do? I am gaining no benefit with existing account, yet opening a new account might give me a decent DC at least.

File a complain to RBI BO and see the magic.
Many got the card this way on their old account.

Don't close the account in hurry.
May be you will not able to open the account again.

I have jio PB from years back too.
I have open debit card section and it showed me to upgrade to virtual rupay platinum or physical rupay platinum ( chargeble 300) .I just opted for virtual card. In matter of seconds I was issued a new virtual platinum debit card
