Need Help - Duracell battery leakage damaged TV remote

I purchased a new TV remote for my MI TV and from day 1 it is running on duracell. Since last few days some buttons were not working. Took it to MI service center today as the remote is under warranty. They opened it and showed me battery leakage and damage due to liquid so warranty void.

Is there anyway I can claim damage charges from duracell?

The remote cost me 599 purchased from MI website. The duracell cells were purchased from local store, no invoice.

I also use Duracell for remotes and they will be present for months inside them, never faced this issue. Are you storing your remote inside cupboards after usage?

dunno why, but all consumer court worthy cases happen to you.
