Need Help - Duracell battery leakage damaged TV remote

I purchased a new TV remote for my MI TV and from day 1 it is running on duracell. Since last few days some buttons were not working. Took it to MI service center today as the remote is under warranty. They opened it and showed me battery leakage and damage due to liquid so warranty void.

Is there anyway I can claim damage charges from duracell?

The remote cost me 599 purchased from MI website. The duracell cells were purchased from local store, no invoice.

yes, good idea. get the service center to write-up a report detailing the same & include photos. then email them.

Not sure if service center will do it. I have to visit again and ask them.

duracell batteries has this issue, I have changed to everyday ultima & amazon basics batteries now.

Just wanted to add AmazonBasics is no saintly brand. It has its own fair share of issues. I only use Eneloop batteries.

No, in the open. I am also using duracell for ages, this is a first time experience.

Duracell is alkaline. I know they have come up with a cheaper version, but I don't use that one.
