Need Help: Failed Transaction Issue – Seeking Suggestions (Airtel App)

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with a payment I made recently, and I’m looking for advice or suggestions on how to resolve it. Here’s what happened:
  • I made a payment of ₹11,383 using my HDFC debit card through the Airtel app to pay a credit card bill. (30 December 2024)
  • The amount was deducted from my bank account, and the transaction SMS lists Airtel as the merchant.
  • Unfortunately, the payment has not been credited to the Federal Bank credit card account.
I contacted Airtel Payments Bank multiple times, but their responses have been unhelpful. They claim the transaction ID doesn’t belong to them and suggested I contact other service providers without providing any clarity.

I’ve provided all transaction details, but Airtel seems to be denying responsibility, leaving me stuck without any resolution.

Request:​

If you’ve experienced a similar issue or know how to handle such cases, please share your suggestions. Specifically:
  1. How can I escalate this issue effectively?
  2. Is there a way to trace the transaction independently?
Note: One thing mysterious is that on an app, I didn’t see any details of Payment.

First wait for 7 working days

If didn't get refund then Contact through X

If you have failed bbps 20 digit I'd then directly contact to Bharat connect, would get instant response.

If no response then initiate chargeback on HDFC debit card

And most important one stay away from Airtel. If any issue arises then it's very difficult to connect, almost impossible.

similar issue happened with me.
i pointed it out in another thread on TF, but two people (will not name them here) started making fun.

I created a chargeback request and my money was credited back to me after 10-12 days.
Be very careful while using Airtel.

Okay on Monday I’ll also Raise a Chargeback 🙏
 
If it's uses razorpay gateway, check the status of the transaction from Razorpay, if it shows refunded, you will get your money within 7 working days
