Looking to apply for 1st amex card. Which card should I opt for?

Plat Travel - Interested in this as this offers most MR points in a year. But got rejected in mid december.

MRCC - Good card, low fees compared to others and good rewards.

Plat reserve - Not so much rewarding, but current offer is going where getting 1500 amazon gv + almost 15k MR points on joining. Can later close and switch to MRCC.

My queries -
Will MR points be merged for separate cards in a single account or separate account will be there? I read somewhere there's a trick for that. Is it so?

how much do you spend and do you travel a lot.. if u can meet plat travel milestone then its a great card.. else mrcc for nominal spends

@dungeonMaster you already have the answer. Amex gets sold as ulips, for their referral benefits. Do your own math. Check my posts too, recently when I evaluated MRCC is just 4% at its best.

Amazon pay allows till 14k payment via vouchers so you can't do that too...
you won't get any rewards for utility bill payments via MRCC... but Gold charge card give same rewards as other spends on utility payments as well...
also getting 3 cards simultaneously might not be wise or easy... go one by one....

Are those spends on personal use or business purpose?

If you are spending high amounts on utilities your account will be flagged.

Apply for mrcc card use it diligently for 4-6months and high probability that u will get an upgrade offer for the travel card from amex.
Always pay in full and spend only what you can afford

I think MRCC first, then Gold then plat travel, and use a referral to get FYF.
