TF Premier
Need a SBI savings account with a physical debit card.

Usage: instant discounts during sales. (Have 2 SBI cards since they are chargeable, want to use debit card as extra)
AMB: can maintain from 10k-25k
Initial Funding: can be done below 5 laks (if special benefits are available)

Any account type with special benefits are available?

Any debit card type or variant which can give more reward points etc...

Please suggest

SBI savings accounts are 0 balance accounts. There isn’t anything particularly special about them, as most services are already free. However, you will be charged for the debit card.

Everything else is free. Just visit your nearest branch to open an account.

SBI doesn't have a premium account below wealth account which needs like 1 or 5 Lakh TRV ? I was hoping to get a free rupay debut card from them.

SBI doesn't have any account with zero Debit card and zero sms charges,
Some AMB AQB is ok

Which account do you have where you're being charged for SMS alerts?

Regular savings accounts don't have any AMB/AQB criteria and I never said that the debit card is free, it's chargeable except for salary account.

If you go for a salary account, all services are free for you. I use a RuPay Platinum card, which has a fee, but the benefits I receive are worth more than the cost. So, I don't mind paying it.

sorry, its was mistyped

My question is:
Does SBI have any account (except Salary) with zero Debit card and zero sms charges? Am ok to maintain some AMB in the account.

Unfortunately, that's not possible.

However, you can do one thing. Open a saving account, you will get physical debit card by default. Block it.

You can issue a virtual DC in the yono app, it's completely free no charges for issuance or annual.

So, your debit card issue can be resolved this way. Coming to SMS/AMB, all SBI accounts are zero balance now (after 2020), and none of them has any SMS charges.

Bump - How to updgrade the debit card variant of SBI? I have a regular savings account with Global debit card (mastercard variant)
But I wanted to upgrade this debit card and get a platinum variant. What is the requirement for this?
When I checked with branch, they told it is auto-assigned. Any other method?
Go to the branch and ask for a form to apply for a special debit card. If they give you a basic form or tell you to apply through net banking, tell them that you don’t need those cards. You have came branch specifically to apply for the Rupay Platinum card.

They will give you with the special debit card form, which will ask for basic information about your account.

At the top of the form, write: DEBIT CARD CODE: EPR

When you submit the form at the counter, tell them that you only want that specific card, and you’ve written the code at the top of the page for their ease.

Also let them know that if it's not possible for them to apply then please don't apply any other card. I will not be paying anything for that.

They will enter the code into their PC, and there will be some eligibility checks (though I'm not sure what they are). If it’s approved, the counter representative will tell you that you will be charged insurance fees, etc.

I did exactly same for a different variant of debit card. I knew the branch manager as well as some of the peeps inside the branch, so it was very easy-peasy for me.

If you have not seen the basic form or special form, send me a DM. I will send you pics of that, so you can differentiate.

Hi @6ix9ine I went to the branch and checked about this. They checked the eligibility and told that my account is not eligible for platinum cards.
For issuing platinum card, total relationship value should be 10L (including loans and deposits). Also my account category is "silver".
So in short they cannot issue platinum debit card for my account it seems. I have rested this for now.
I am cancelling the physical global Master debit card and using only the virtual debit card for now.

Get a Virtual Debit Card. It gives more rewards as compared to Physical One. And lifetime free

Yes, that is the logical reason. My savings account is in the diamond category. Sounds good, virtual DC is enough for day to day.
