Hi,

Im currently searching for a Debit card which offers 0 forex charges (like fi/jupiter cards) but i dont trust neobanks, so looking for a traditional bank that offers 0 forex. I am willing to maintain whatever minimum balance applicable.

Master Card World Exclusive Debit Card Free Free
Signature Exclusive Debit Card Free Free
Platinum Exclusive Debit Card (Not available for New Accounts) Free

apart from IndusInd is there any options? i would like to explore more, since I already hold 0 balance indusind account and the support is horrible. would consider this as last option

One of the appealing aspects of IndusInd Bank is the ability to hold multiple cards, ranging from 3-4, despite the potential headaches. 🤣

The card you receive will depend on the branch you visit. Initially, they may provide you with an Insta Kit. However, once your account is operational, you have the flexibility to apply for a MasterCard at the branch or a Visa card through the bank's mobile app.

By default you get issued the Visa Signature, but upon requesting to customer care, you can get the Mastercard issued for free. I hold both. Keep in mind that apart from the 0% forex, they give you up to a ~1% reward rate if you spend >40k and <1L in a month.

pretty good features, but 1500 per year is out of my budget, seems Indusind exclusive account is the only viable option
If you spend 3 Lakh Annually that 1500 is wavied off.
And if you spend 5 Lakh Annually you will get 5k Milestone Voucher.

This mile stone voucher will increase the Reward Rate to 2% for Annual 5 Lakh spends.

Indus is giving upto 0.93% with Tncs Applicable.

Any reason that you specifically want a debit card for forex instead of CC?

If you are anyways ready to maintain whatever balance in a savings account, why not create an FD in IDFC and get their FD backed WOW card with 0% markup. Higher interest for the balance you keep and no fees on the card.

for cashbacks, i already use credit cards. and my debit card forex spends will be < 30k per year so it cant breakeven with the yearly charges.
You just have to do Credit Card Repayments via RBL Signature Plus for 1% and to achieve milestone Vocher

If even you do not understand what I am trying to say , you can go with indus Exclusive DC Without any second thought

about cc - i cant do large spends to cover the cc yearly amc and i thought getting debit card will be easier.
wow card - i need to look this. do they have any servicable location conditions? i live in a tier3 town and there is no idfc branch

i currently do cc payments with hdfc platinum card which has 750pm limit but it covers my cc spends. so another card of similar benefits is overkill for me

You can shift the payments from HDFC to RBL.
In HDFC you are getting
1% CashBack but no 0 forex Markup

In RBL you are getting
Upto 2%(Minimum 1%) as well as 0 forexup.

RBL MAB starts from 2500 onwards
HDFC require 25k MAB for LTF Platinum DC, if you do not hold higher variant Account

If you're not sure that you will reach 5L spends on the DC, the difference between Indusind and RBL's RR (excluding the 5L voucher) is 0.07% or Rs. 30. Mastercard FX rates are usually slightly better than Visa's, so that difference will be easily made up anyway.

With RBL, you will have to open a new account, and worry about doing manufactured spends to hit the milestone later on. Seems a no-brainer to me.
