So I am in Philippines since 2 weeks and have tried swiping my BOB Premier JCB Rupay card on atleast 4 merchant outlets in Makati (in the mall). The pos swipe machines had JCB mentioned on them, and the merchants also confirmed that they accept JCB. Yet, the transactions failed every time saying "do not honor". Tried tap and pay, as well as dipping the card, but it did not work.

I have double checked all international settings in BOB app as well as their website, and there are no limits defined. All international settings are on.

I have emailed BOB but no response since 3 days. Any thoughts @Abhishek012 ?

There is always an issue with BOB; many times it doesn't work. Another person mentioned that he used a Kotak RuPay JCB card and it worked but the BOB card kept getting declined.

You can also complaint to RuPay twitter handle. Also disabled all International/domestic option and again enable all International/domestic options and try.

Tried to ask for the "RPJ" debit card while opening a new account today. Banker said either Salary account or 20L RV required.
They said they can't find that dc initially, will take request for it later once account is active. What to do?

By the way card full name showing on SBI staff computer - RuPay International Platinum Debit Card

As Abhishek mentioned, you need to mention the code. I got my JCB card. They have it in their system. Not all staff members know everything in SBI. Find someone who is tech savvy among the staff and they will quickly get you to what you need!

The staff was helpful to my surprise. When I mentioned the DC, she showed me hers to confirm if that's what I wanted. And then asked me what are the benefits for which I wanted it.
Since my aadhaar address is pretty far and I wanted it at my current address, she suggested I wait for few days until account verification and after that get the dc on my current address
 
@Abhishek012 Tried emailing customer care, disabled and re-enabled all international settings via website and app, but the card is still not working in Philippines, it gives the error "DO NOT HONOR".

Could there be a problem in the card ? Should i ask them to replace it when I come back ?

Yeah, you can try, but I told you last time, right, there's always some issue with BOB. RuPay-JCB cards from other banks work fine.

It may not be a problem with card as I tried both - my card as well as supplementary card of my wife and both didn’t work. So it’s something related to my account from the back-end I guess.

Could you please suggest another good card on jcb ? I keep coming to Philippines very often and Rupay ran this ofter twice this year.

I just shopped for 15k today could have saved 3k had this stupid card worked.

You can also complaint to RuPay on twitter. Every transaction declined, there is some error code.

RuPay and banks will know the exact reason for transaction declined.

but bank says they are not seeing any transaction declined error in back-end. Anyway my trip is over, please suggest some other JCB credit card for me. BOB is just too slow to deal with.
