New Upgrade Offer for Amex Platinum for 1.25L points + Giveaway from Nappa Dori

That's a very fancy laptop sleeve. Quality is very good, top notch leather and finishing.

After all that's their specialty, it's hard to find better quality leather goods.

It is quite stiff (thick leather) and heavy (which makes it not so travel friendly, specially for carry-on, think of), but the stiffness gives it a good shape to carry/store documents and other stuff. Fits my mac, portable display and plenty of docs.

People will judge the value of it, it retails around 6k.

But it is a gift on top of the upgrade offer, one that will probably last you a very long time and while being a fairly "generic" gift I bet it's one that you'll keep and appreciate over time.
Leather has many grades. Full grain and it’s variants are among the highest grades. These leathers age beautifully with time and are the most durable as it’s the outermost layer of the hide. “Genuine Leather” is actually the second lowest grade of leather with bonded leather (leather scraps packed together) being the lowest. The next time you see “genuine leather“ on a product you should think twice about how good the leather is. A lot of designer brands, especially those known for their durability like Dr. Martens, etc. all use full grain leather or some variant of it because of how durable it is and how well it ages.

Nappa Dori lists their leather as “Genuine Leather” which makes me pretty disappointed.

Try it out for a year ,cancel it before Renewal if it doesn't suit your needs

I visited Centurion Lounge at DEL T3 in Feb with a family friend who has this card ,and boy oh boy it was something, the view ,the food ,the service ,it was like the good old days when lounges were actually luxurious spaces for business travellers instead of what they become now ,midday meal schemes at airport

He also gets room upgrade and free breakfast everywhere he stays and has accumulated lot of MR points and Taj Vouchers due to his spends

Trust me if i had that kind of income ,spends and lifestyle ,i would take this card in heartbeat, but its too rich for my blood...for now
Hey !
Fancy finding you here.
Tip: Take blood from patients, convert 1 Blood Point = 10 MR points, *step missing*, Profit !
Never spend your own blood for creature comforts m8, that's why the creatures-to-comforts ratio is so absurd on our planet.
Happy Harvesting !

You should see the finishing of their products, I'm very happy with them. This in particular might not take scratches and patina very well like other products do like wallet or boots, at least that's my opinion but it is also a rather different type of leather... It is pretty and I would not question durability. If you have seen and handled any of their products, including this sleeve I bet you'll change your opinion. Also any leather is genuine leather... I'm not a leather expert but I love leather goods (evidently) and I'm satisfied with the ones they use. They also use different types depending on the item, but in this case it's a thick leather with such a nice smooth beautiful texture and color. God knows what actual type of leather they use.

Nonetheless there's things that they sell that are just ridiculously priced like their luggage, where the quality and support will never be up to the price. It's feels a bit beyond ridiculous but I guess there's a market for that. I kinda indulged myself into one of these.

Amex values 10K points at 4K INR. So perhaps bag is worth 4K.

You don't have to guess it. They sell it, it's about 6k-8k depending on the size.

AMEX obviously probably doesn't pay retail price. Customization is done for free or a small fee.

You can literally order the same one and ask them to stamp whatever name you want, or even a logo. They have partnered with Chivas, BRICS summit, etc and even gave a few head of states customized trunks. Needless to say you need to have very good image and quality for you to be allowed to give such gifts to head of states during such an event.

I've gotten a few pieces of luggage by them stamped with my name. I've rocking this one for about 2 years with some intensive use, no issues so far aside from some scuffs but they look fine and with some travel stickers it does start to get some character.

Other several bags of them have held up very nicely over the years, some stitching has come undone in two of them but either it takes 5 minutes to fix or you can email their support and they'll either fix it for you or even send you the spare parts to repair it if you can DIY.

Thanks. So still a good upgrade with 125K MRs and the laptop sleeve.

I got the offer today and I took the offer of 125k points + Laptop sleeve 🙂 I am already making some decent points with Amex MRC and Platinum Travel cards. I have travel plans in 2024 and 2025 and hopefully would be able to use all the Marriott points for stay 🙂

As a Data Point, which card are you upgrading and which ones are you keeping ?
What was your spend pattern like on overall account and that particular card ?
And how old are you cards/account ?

Trying to gather some data points as to when or who they offer upgrades, I had a ITR of 15L and my spending pattern is quite heavy (spent more than 22L already) due to my business expenses (reimbursed) yet applying directly they did not offer the card, let alone upgrade.
Hell, even the initial limit provided is like 75k only (cards/account is 3 months old)

I have received my Amex Platinum Card Today!!

I got 1,35,000 points offer for upgrade in January 2024, I didn’t took it that time. Some domestic and international travel plans are coming up and will stay at Taj, Marriot & Oberoi properties. I also use Truefit & Hill Salon often. I might fly Emirates business class, I hope they upgrade to first class.

So this time I took a shot with following option. Although I got personal invite through email, didn’t see any offer on app like before.

1,25,000* Membership Rewards® Points + limited edition Nappa Dori Laptop Sleeve

I decided to give it a try for a year as welcome benefits are covering more than 70800₹ fee and gives additional perks to make luxury affordable. If it suits me well, I might consider renewal if proper service and retention benefits offered by Amex.

Hope all goes well.

I have received the same offer and thinking of going ahead as I have foreign trips upcoming to Egypt and Philippines in the coming month. Can you share how exactly are you taking benefits from it? Do you recommend going ahead? I know about Marriot transfer, how is mr points for flight booking? advisable?

80k points you can do a return trip to Singapore Airlines in economy to manila with a stop over in Singapore.
90K points with Virgin Atlantic for Cairo return
I am just giving you rough idea what it works out for flights
still Marriot brings a lot of value for stays.
