Newly Issued AMEX Card says “Account Locked Out”

I received my second AMEX card (Gold) but faced an issue when trying to add it to my existing AMEX Platinum Travel account, showing an “account is locked” error.

Chat Support advised creating a separate account for the new card, which doesn’t make sense.
Call Support said they couldn’t access my account details yet because the card was only approved yesterday and suggested waiting 24 hours.

You have to create a new account.. I had done this recently...

It seems there is an option to have all in one account but it takes time and Amex has to take request for this and work on it.. while they are working on it you won't have access to your Gold card , if you choose this way...

My MR point are linked at...

It seems there is an option to have all in one account but it takes time and Amex has to take request for this and work on it.. while they are working on it you won't have access to your Gold card , if you choose this way...

My MR point are linked at the back end and shown in both the accounts... even though I created a seperate account for Gold..


Now, I have two accounts
1) MRCC and Plat Travel - one account
2) Gold - 2nd account..

The commbined pool of MR points are shown in both the accounts.

I opened MRCC Plat Travel and Gold in that order.
All MR points are visible in all the accounts and added to one pool of MR points..

Some users are reporting this issue quite often.
 
I've actually emailed them and raised a request through chat support to link my gold card to my existing account. So, I'll wait a few more days and won't create a new account for now. Let's see if this gets resolved.

Mark my above post as " solution" if you feel it has solved your query...
