After the renovation , there are now 2 Encalm lounges. One on the 1st floor is the one that serves lunch and buffet, while one on the ground floor is primarily for seating purposes!
One on the 1st floor is usually too crowded for one’s liking, but surprisingly, very few people actually visit the lounge on the ground floor, mainly because of two reasons.
1. One sees the lounge on the top floor more easily while walking towards the gates because the Lounge on the lower floor is a bit hidden away.
2. The receptionist at the Encalm lounge on the ground floor usually directs people away from that lounge to the one on the 1st floor stating they have no food and only sitting area (which is an objectively wrong statement).
When I visited a few days go on 4th October 2025, owing to my flight being preponed by a few minutes, I couldn’t spare any time queuing up for the top floor lounge, so I insisted the receptionist on the ground floor Enaclm lounge to check me in anyways. I used my SBI wealth Rupay select DC to checkin and the process was smooth. Inside I was surprised to see only 2 people sitting and a big selection of “snacks and drinks (Including chicken biriyani)” there. You can’t ask for a parcel or request them to pack something for you, you have to eat whatever you want inside the lounge. But they were gracious enough to allow me a a coke and a paneer roll to go, as I was visibly in a hurry for my flight.
The only issue may be is the lack of a washroom there which is easily compensated by the general washroom literally 20 steps away
So, next time you visit Delhi, do give it a shot if the lounge on the top floor seems full.
(Also bonus, SBI wealth Rupay select doesn’t have railway lounge access even if the lounge available options in official rupay select website shows railway lounge as available, checked in NDLS Executive Lounge on PF 1)
