No cashback for No cost EMI cancellation??

I have Amazon ICICI card
I made a purchase for phone on Non cost EMI
I cancelled EMI after phone was delivered
Today statement was generated, I got no cashback

Customer care said even after cancelling EMI, I won't get cashback

Is this called EMI post facto?
Does it happens with all the cards?
Can we ask them to cancel EMI as soon as we made purchase and get cashback?

No, if it's an EMI transaction, then the rules of EMI apply. Cancellation of EMI is a prepayment, the original transaction is still an EMO
Afaik - You can't cancel the EMI conversion till the conversion is effected, so that's not an option.

I use Yaper, there are many deals where requirement is earn 5% cashback, also get No cost EMI discount, then cancel EMI (Mostly I see it for Flipkart credit cards)
