I remember few months back I was getting option to open a saving max account through expressway. I already had regular.
@Vasuki Check once. U may also have option to open. Recently I converted my single account to joint. Branch was requesting me to try online. Now almost all hdfc banking services are integrated with expressway.

I have two Regular HDFC accounts (double checked in statement) in two branches. I didn't open in another branch as a jugad, I actually needed it. I have to move the 2nd account in the same branch and the branch guy confirmed it's no big deal, I have to place a request that's it.
I have preferred banking, so family has accounts too.
I needed a 2nd account for genuine reasons. I didn't want personal txns to show up in salary account statements as it often gets shared. I explained it politely and asked a second account to be used as savings for UPI and personal stuff. It took 10 days to open via offline route but I eventually got it. And No existing customer IDs can not open account online, the VKYC terms and conditions specifically mention about not opening any other account via VKYC.

I dont know i asked 2 hdfc branches n asked cc by call n mail. All said 2 ac wid same product Code is not possible. I ws nt having any problm wid different variant so opened.
Hv u confirmed product codes of both regular ac r same or different.

You are correct. The product code is different although I didn't ask for a diff account. Just asked them to open a regular savings account that's all. I might have been lucky to get a good branch with helpful staff.

Yes. You can open two SB accounts from the same branch under the same Cust ID, but they have to be two differnt account variants.
I have two SB accounts in the same branch..
1) SB Max
2) Specialé Platinum
you can have two different types of DCs for these two accounts, if you want to..
Want to wait it out to see if any other platform crops ups which allows CC bill payment as utilities. Also easy shop platinum DC has higher cash withdrawal limits than millenia DC. I need those 2-3 times a year.
