If you pay your credit card bill via HDFC Bank bill payment portal using your HDFC Bank debit card then you can earn 1% cashback, maximum Cashback capping depends on your debit card type.

Millennia gives 2.5% on online purchases. So when you add money to amazon pay wallet, Amazon is shown in merchant Name, so that's considered as normal online purchase not wallet reload. That's why you would be eligible for 2.5% CB.

Also, only load money to amazon wallet if you have got Amazon Pay wallet UPI. Otherwise your money will be stuck.
thanks man, I requested for upgradation of my money-back dc to millennia dc usigm hdfc mobile app.
further, what if I don't have Amazon pay wallet UPI? can I not pay cc bill via Amazon then?

you can still pay CC bill via amazon pay but Only with upi id or net banking not with DC.

Then your option would be add money to paytm wallet and the pay CC bills.
okay then I'll register for Amazon pay UPI. do I need to select UPI (while registering)for my hdfc account only or can I select another bank account as well?

How can one pay through amazon pay after adding from millennia DC and earn 2.5% if cc payments arent allowed using amazon pay??
Amazon launched a feature called Amazon Pay wallet UPI. If you have this feature than you can use your amazon wallet money to make upi payments. There's thread in the community about it. You can check it out.

After getting this feature enabled, you have to add money via DC to amazon wallet and then make payment through your amazon pay wallet upi.

also, I just checked as you mentioned I'm not getting option to pay cc bill using dc on Amazon as of now. just to confirm, paying via dc option will appear once I get my UPI done right?
You can't make CC payment directly via DC.

Check this thread to know how to make CC payment via amazon pay wallet upi.

just to add, currently this feature not with IoS, only android

In the thread you posted above about paying cc through amazon pay upi, one of user reported that its no more allowing DC or CC to load wallet and only netbanking and upi option is available. Think sooner than later this method too will be blocked😔

DC is working. I just loaded Amazon wallet yesterday.
Try directly loading the wallet, not through any third party app.

So i have a easyshop platinum dc from hdfc that gives 1% on cc bill payments with max of ₹750 per month and in multilpes of 250 rp for redemption. The millennia card has a max of 400 per month and multiple of 400. Cant figure out how much better off will i be changing over to millennia considering that my online spends(cc spends) are atleast 75000 a month..
