Payzapp + Red Girraffe MCC Patched

Payzapp has corrected the MCC for rent transactions done on Red Girraffe. I did a transaction yesterday and the merchant name is reflected as PZRENT. The transaction got settled today and Axis has charged a 1% rent surcharge + GST as well. So it’s no longer reflected as a utility transaction

I went through this post but still confused about two things. Can someone clarifies?

If I pay rent using HDFC DCB credit card via HDFC Bill pay + RG portal then Will I get normal reward points and no charges?

If I add money to payzapp wallet via apay (1%), IDFC wealth (1.5-2.5%) then can I use that wallet money (+RG) to pay rent? Ading money to wallet using apay and IDFC Wealth will give reward points?

It only shows total. U need to do some maths if u don't know ur point history. Or wait till statement generation. Or call customer care and ask for mcc.

It seems that you paid through payzapp and it doesn't show pzrent as it was in axis.
We all assumed that payzapp+rg changed MCC, but I think that axis changed it to rent even with insurance MCC on their end only, HDFC is yet to follow suit.
Meaning Hdfc cards on payzapp should work with pz+rg as it was before. Nothing's changed for HDFC, just Axis has patched it on their end.
At least I can't see any post where someone paid with hdfc CC+ pz+ rg and didn't get the point. Everyone just assumed after axis. Please point out the post, if I'm wrong.

1.Is it possible to change MCC code as per banks preferenc?
2.So your saying that HDFC will treat it as a insurance and Axis will treat under rent?

1. Axis has not changed MCC, necessarily. They are just treating it as a rent transaction, because they've found out that it's in fact actually rent. Imo.
2. Yes, I think. I'm looking for threads where it says that hdfc has treated this as rent and not insurance, but I can't find it. Everyone assumed that payzapp+rg MCC changed, but looking at the screenshot of the transaction from hdfc in prior message, there is a possibility that Axis changed the treatment of the same transaction even with the insurance mcc.

I did a transaction using my HDFC card today, came under PZ Rent. I added it to BillPay which was under verification so had to use PayZapp for the upcoming month. I think the mystery question is now solved! BillPay is the next best option

Edit Clarification: The SS attached is using PayZapp and not BillPay

I did rent payment using Infinia +RG thro' BillPay on 29/07 and it shows as "HDFC BILL PAY PAYNOW IN". Most likely they have credited the points but will have the final confirmation when the statement is generated on August 6th.
