There is no such feature launched on PhonePe in the last one month. - Practically all the respondents on this thread are unable to make UPI payments via Phonepe wallet balance, and it has been 10 days now!

I just received it. But the VPA assigned to it is not my phone number or the default VPA. The one custom VPA i was testing which later on i deactivated got automatically assigned to it.

PhonePe has weird policies. Previously they weren't allowing deactivated accounts to reactivate. And now, custom VPA, after creating, cannot be modified or deleted.

I got the wallet upi today .

To make sure that we are speaking about the same thing -
Wallet UPI (with a UPI handle different than the bank UPI handle) would allow you to use your wallet balance (of course, not gift card balance) to transfer money to any other UPI ID - even if you do not have any bank account mapped to PhonePe for UPI. Further, this should work for both P2P and P2M. Moreover, you should also be able to specify a bank IFSC & account number (instead of QR code / UPI ID) and make a UPI transfer to it.

That is what the OP has mentioned as well - quoted above.

This is indeed how Amazon Wallet UPI has been functioning for more than a year, after NPCI enabled UPI support for PPI. This is also how PayTM Wallet UPI worked before new deposits to PayTM wallet were banned.

Can you confirm that you can actually transfer some of your PhonePe wallet balance via UPI to a bank account that is NOT linked to your phonepe?

Looks like a whole lot of folks on this thread are also unable to find similar option.

I am on PhonePe app version 24.11.15.0 on Android. There is no update pending. I have my PhonePe Full KYC upgrade completed more than 3 days back. Yet, I cannot make a P2P UPI transfer from wallet to any bank a/c-mapped UPI handle or wallet-mapped UPI handle. When trying to make this transfer, it asks me to select a bank account linked to the cell number first.
