The GST Council is discussing on taxing the Vouchers and current discussion is whether same would be taxed as Sale of service (18% GST) or Sale of goods. High chances that the tax will be applicable on it.

It will be one of the biggest devaluation in the history of credit card benefits if it comes true.

We are still getting it applied on AGV'S what will happen if this will be applicable, will the charged doubled and if doubled who will gonna purchase those by paying 6-7%?

GST was introduced to end multi-layer taxation. :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Arun Jaitley should have died again seeing Sitharaman's thinktank strategy to suck blood.

But currently it is just a news. Clarity only after meeting.

The Rs.10,400 benefit given tom iddle class by FM by increasing slab from 3-6L to 3-7L and 6-9L to 7-10L is getting taken back with such things. 10400 de ke 15000 legi yeh Sitharaman. Best FM just like Best Maha CM Thakarey.

This is the last plan executed by bjp, they sucked every juice in the name of 2 no. Paisa and then no one knows where those money went and now by tax, every high to middle to lower class suffers from this, the reason high class having high income and are driving the main system, so they neglect those things and the burden comes to middle and lower class people.

Then what if we buy 10k voucher then she wants 1800rs wtf
It is not going to work like this i.e Flat 18% on All GVs.

Most likely it would work like this if implemented, where GST Rate for Intended use is Fixed like Zomato Vouchers or Uber/Ola Vouchers.

Zomato Cart Value Rs. 100
Now Zomato will not collect 5% GST on Rs.100 and will charge only Rs.100 since Rs.5 was already collected at the time of Purchase of Rs.100 Zomato which will be utilized to Pay Rs.100 in this Case and Rest Amount like Delivery Fee/Paltform Fee, we have to Pay via any other Mode.

This will Create hassle for Platforms where GV would be utilized at the end, if GST council Approved it.🤣

I don't think this is how it's going to work if it is implemented.
