does anyone know if making CC repayment via Preferred Platinum Debit Card gives us 1% cashback?
I know there is a limit of 750 per month but it's not a bad deal after all.

Yes, it will give you, if you use hdfc bill desk for sure. For other platforms you need to check mcc.

Yes, that’s correct. When paying the bill, be sure to choose ‘debit card’ instead of ‘net banking’ to earn the points.

Regarding your second question, HDFC Billpay does not support HDFC credit cards. It never has. If you want to pay your HDFC credit card bill and earn 1% cashback, consider using SBI Unipay.

SBI Unipay also gives 1% cashback when paying HDFC credit card bill using HDFC platinum card. One thing to note is that settlement may take some time and sometimes transaction might fail. You’ll find plenty of threads about SBI Unipay.
