I have recently lost 35k in ICICI rupay cc international transaction fraud. Card was disabled for international, yet transaction still went through in Mexican currency
Many on Twitter and reddit reported losing 35k to 1.5lakh on same day on icici coral rupay cc. Last week many lost money in hdfc visa platinum dc pos fraud.
Here are some tips to protect yourself
1. Permanently block dc of Main salary / savings account ( reason: pos swipe tx fraud on dc & also sbi virtual dc let international tx even when disabled)
2. Keep cc temporary block always and reduce total credit limit to 10k . Avoid rupay cc (reason: international transaction fraud even with international off)
3. Make jio payment or airtel payment as receiving account for upi number (reason: main account freeze by police coz of fraud credit)
4. Use Amazon pay or airtel payment or jio payment for daily upi transactions
There's no way ur making 35k to 1.5 lakhs in rewards points or cashbacks.
Our banking system from top to bottom is run by sales and marketing people, our money is not safe with them.

All these transactions on dc and cc happens at 3:30am when ur sleeping peacefully, and not awake to block the card
Few things about settlement and dispute reporting and blocking of card in case of fraud
1. 2 days Settlement. Settlement will happen even if u report or block the card
2. Blocking the card is to prevent future transaction, doesn't effect the transaction that happened already
3. If pos dc happens, banks are responding that u received otp and closing complaint without refund. Generally u don't receive otp in these transactions
4. For international transactions even with international off, many fraud happened in AED,usd and mxn currency. With rampant identity theft like from delivery guys, Ecom saved card leaks, customer database leaks,, getting your name and delivery address is not difficult. Merchants just have to provide ur correct name and address and chances banks will resolve in their favour after 90 days.
5. In all these cases the transactions stopped till bank balance run out or total actual credit limit
6. With ai bots and
