Query - limit for UPI payment via RuPay Credit Card

Hi,

I have PNB Credit Card and activated it in BHIM for making UPI payments at merchants.

I was using it at Amazon.in for a transaction of Rs 10000 (first one for the month and for the day) and it gave an error - "NET DEBIT CAP IN EXCEEDED".

Tried another transaction of Rs 9000 and that too failed. What can be the reason?

Amazon UPI handle which requested money was:

amazonupi@apl
amazon@yapl

Checked in PNB Netbanking and there seems no way to limit/modify at PNB end.

So confused. Also tagging @Abhishek012 in case he has some inside info 🙂

EDIT: Seems like stablization issues at PNB / NCPI. But later on, was even able to do a single transaction of Rs 35K

you have to make transaction after 24 hours of registration and card activation
Dada - I registered like 2 weeks back. And made many transactions 3K / 4K / 10K etc across few days.

On 31st Oct, made 10K and after that all failing...10K failed, 5K failed, 1K failed.

Not only Amazon but other vendors too. Same error "NET DEBIT CAP IS EXCEEDED"

No way to contact anyone !!!

Try paying via Debit card linked upi ID in BHIM app. Then you can atleast find out whether problem is with CC or BHIM app.

This is just a proposal. Currently, no market cap on any UPI apps.

NPCI to cap third party UPI apps market share from Jan 2023 but recently I heard that NPCI has again extended this 3rd party UPI apps cap plan for 2 years.

Also note - NPCI will stop adding new customers for third party UPI apps like Gpay and Phonepe untill GPay, Phonepe UPI apps market share will reduce to under 33%. There is no plan to cap on UPI transactions.

Follow UPI circulars here - https://www.npci.org.in/what-we-do/upi/circular

Thing's are stil in development.it not easy to Handle UPI SWITCH AND CREDIT CARD SWITCH. Different systems are joint so things take time you see different error every day remember that day when UPI lunch..
These are not impossible but they need some time to evaluate new learnings and new scalable possibilities.
They make it live on whiten 3months so this kind of issues are natural in first pahse.

@mgforce I think PNB bank is set some cap on daily and monthly RuPay credit card linked UPI transactions that's why you get this error "NET DEBIT CAP IS EXCEEDED"

Remove your card and add again on BHIM UPI app and retry.

Maybe you exhausted number of transactions for day and not the transaction amount cap. Not really sure just shooting in the dark here

May be.

Since yesterday it has started working again though this time I am trying small transactions - max upto 2000/-
If possible do transactions above Rs2000 via UPI. Dnt misuse the Credit card linked UPI service.

Bank will face losses if you do too much transaction under Rs2000 via UPI.

Read here - RuPay credit card UPI to succeed if small transactions under 10%: NPCI CEO

Lenders will promote RuPay credit card on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as long as the value of transactions derived from small merchants, who have been exempted to pay merchant discount rate (MDR), is not more than 10 per cent of the total value of RuPay credit card transactions.

Noted and will take care of that.

For me, the uncertainty of transactions going through is the issue.

Hence my thinking is that may be high value transactions are leading to limit breach or so.

PNB is worst bank, these PSU banks also have their own monthly UPI limit.

Wait for other banks to launch RuPay credit card linked UPI.

I already told, everyone need to wait atleast 1 year.

My friend works in "In-Solutions Global Ltd (ISG)".

In-Solutions Global Ltd (ISG) is PNB's technology service provide for linking UPI with PNB bank RuPay credit card.
