RBL replacing credit cards

Saipsy

TF Premier
Have anyone got this mail? Can you shed more light on it. Why are they replacing before expiry? Seems like changing card number as well.

There is an important update on your RBL Bank Credit Card ending. To ensure seamless and secure transactions worldwide, we are replacing your existing card plastic with a new one.
Do note that this is only a change in the card plastic - your credit limit, card benefits and features remain unchanged.
The new Card will be issued on 12th May'2025 and dispatched to your registered address.
Here’s what you need to know:
•Your existing Card will continue to work for a period of 30 days from 12th May'2025. Any purchase attempted on existing Card will be declined after 30 days.
•We recommend you to destroy and dispose your existing Card plastic safely on receipt of your new Card.
•Your new Card is enabled for ‘Tap and Go’. Enable this functionality on RBL MyCard App.
•Save your new 16-digit Card number at your favourite merchant website for faster checkout at the time of online shopping.
•All outstanding dues, running EMIs (if any), reward points and transactions will automatically be transferred onto the new Card.
•Setup your subscriptions (Netflix, Disney Hotstar etc.)/SI on all the merchants with the new card number. To view your active mandates and for more details, refer Manage Recurring Merchant Payments.
•Ensure your billing address, Email ID and Mobile number are updated with RBL Bank to enjoy a seamless experience and to continue to receive important communication from us

Could be something with their world safari series. I got it too. My world safari is already tap and go enabled, so it's unlikely that it's just that.

Saw a lot of complaints from folks complaining that the so called 'world safari' card didn't work for them internationally despite assurances from cc. Could be solving that and tap and go features at the same time.

I have received it too for my World Safari. Could be to mitigate some data breach?
Yes, most likely this is the reason....due to some security breach, otherwise they wont take pain of bearing the card indentation and shipping charges for all!
Not very likely, to be honest. If it were due to a data breach, giving a 30 day window after 12th May would only give potential fraudsters more time to exploit the compromised cards. In such cases, banks usually act swiftly and block affected cards immediately. There’d be no point in waiting that long to replace them.

Did anyone check the reason with them for replacement. I don't have any card from RBL.
