RBL shoprite card mis-selling --- need help

Hi All,

I received a call from RBL agent, and she claimed I'm eligible for RBL World Safari LTF and if I would like to apply.

I said yes, and shared PAN no, name, address & DoB. I received email saying I applied for shoprite with annual fee of 500/-

And she denied saying safari, but its shoprite. I said I have it in recording but then she changed her word that since I was looking for LTF, she changed it to shoprite as she couldn't provide world LTF.

What should I do? shall I do KYC and receive the card and active only if its LTF?
Or escalate to bank & stuff and any chance of getting World Safari LTF? Please suggest best way to handle it.

Calling CC and asking for cancelation may have the benefit of prompting them to act and try and resolve the issue. Even if it doesn't happen, the card can be closed and things be done and dusted.

I had some difficulty with reward point credit and cashback credit on Monthlytreats earlier, and didn't get resolution from even PNO. Mailed the CEO desk, got call in 2 days and the cashback was credited the next day. Even the reward points were credited, though the issue of undercrediting RPs still remain on the card.
lets see if I get lucky with my emails.

I was just afraid if I call and ask for card closure, what if they close it without a word !
I feel it may be of use as bargain chip by not activating it.

I received call from the same agent (who lied and made me apply), she was on verge of crying & doing drama and saying lies. She claimed that 1st time application had some issues & didn't get submitted, so her boss had to file it & he forgot to apply LTF code & blah blah. She had no answer why she applied for shoprite instead of world safari... she tried to justify saving it would have come out of mistake as they mostly promote world safari but thats with joining & annual fees.

She was saying she is at risk of losing job and she wont get a job again... keep asking me to take back my complaint. Kept asking me to forgive her for being a WOMEN. Basically typical girl card she was playing. She later was like its just 500 rupees & I'm screwing her life for 500... how unfair and blah blah. I asked her why she didn't care when I called her before my complaint, she claimed that she didn't know it was me... its just two times you called....

I asked her to get me world safari LTF, I will let this case go... but said she cant apply for next 6 months blah blah.

Later her boss called me, asking me to take back the complaint... he kept saying girl is crying... let her go & all. But it never felt like she deserves any mercy based on our interaction. I told him the same, give me world safari... he is like its very premium card of RBL, which they never give to anyone.

I told him so many have it LTF, he didn't trust me...
He tried to sell me saying take paid card and spend 2L in first year to make it LTF... which I feel is fake claim.

whole discussion with the bank is very very scummy. i've seen other banks lie but they handle this shit internally. here, they (md not working, cc agent and her boss) are trying to put this on you.

i've acc with them. don't use it. your experience makes me wanna close it.
nice of you to try to get it rightfully. good attitude. rbl wants to do everything but give a useless card ltf!

btw federal scapia is zero forex too.

they are not even giving useless card LTF... useless shoprite is also given as paid card.

I have other ways for 0 forex. (cant apply scapia as I have one card with federal bank).
But I have Indus Pinnacle, with which I can have exclusive account and then using exclusive signature debit card... I get 0 forex & spend benefits. This may be better then rewards of world safari, cuz there are no benefits, only 0 forex. And these spends do count towards milestone rewards.

He said that the management is planning to mark her as abscond. Which means she will lose her job, and might not get rehired based on abscond status.
They are trying to make me feel guilty of all this... which is very nasty mental game.

He is saying its not possible to make this shoprite as world safari LTF. I shared him e-mail where guys got upgraded to world safari LTF. Now this senior guy is asking me to call customer care & ask... obviously they will deny...

I dont know where this will end... but things are getting nasty. Girl did sound like she is crying

And think of the actual convos you had had previously with them.

Going by how the boss is acting; it doesn't seem he has any regret. Again a fake promise from his side.

So decide for yourself: ( I have come up with 3 options)
1) Do you really want the Safari CC LTF; if yes and I take your word tht the agent offered you LTF but processed application for ShopRite instead; you may go ahead with the complaint. ( don't take the guilt, it's a really nasty game they are playing )

2) If getting Safari LTF is still not possible; then you may write to the customer care in such a way- I am taking my complaint back; as I do not wish she (mention tht agent) loses her job for a mere ₹500; and on top I would not get the Safari CC LTF as promised by her (If you have the call recording, attach it as well, in which she is saying she will lose her job ) This will push away the guilt.
Ab bhai wo company ka prblm hai ki wo log kaise handle karenge. You ease up the guilt from your mind; cause you clearly said that you do not want someone to get fired for ₹500. Baaki company dekhegi.

3) Third option is what theguy mentioned

After all Banking is a relationship. Strting me hi itni dikkat ho rhi hai; then you will have to take a firm stand whether or not you even want to bank with such people. If the answer is NO; then drop the case

Raise to RBI ombudsman.
Raise to all levels of grieveance of RBL bank.

Hope you've recorded these calls where they're pressurising you to take back your complaint, and are agreeing to misselling.

Funnily it feels like these people are third party and not direct RBL employees. If yes, they can't get you a world safari
 
No one is gonna get fired.
You are in position of bargain,use it. If they don't budge, let them go to hell.
If you take back your complaint because of their melo drama, she would treat any other person as she treated you.
The sales guys are just good for their own incentives,they don't care about others.

I have time till 6th Jan to finish 30 Days since my first complaint. Then I will file to RBI if I'm not provided with LTF world safari.
I'm not going to fall to their guilt trap or whatever in the name of women. She deserves to be disciplined (or fired as her employer deem fit) if she had undermined her company to legal issues. Its not my fault if they claim my complaint is the source of her losing job.

Please do not remove your complaint. This is what is wrong with the banking sector and the society as a whole.

They want to be dishonest and gain but don't want to suffer any consequences.
You reap what you sow.

Let this be a lesson to the sales team, many innocent unsuspecting people would be saved from these white collar thieves.
 
I got call from her boss again. Again same drama.

They did confirm that they are from 3rd party and not RBL bank employees. He shared below email & kept asking for same. He kept saying its impossible to provide LTF World safari from their end.

He confirmed only Shoprite (which got converted form Zomato edition) can be upgraded to world safari LTF. Cards which are applied directly as shoprite are not eligible for LTF upgrade.

Then he made me speak with his boss (who is RBL bank employee). He didn't provide me any commitments...

Finally drama ended, with no resolution. Same they said over call, they didn't care when I said I will complaint to RBI also.
