@snjn , I am in a similar situation. After almost 2 years of continuously talking to HDFC about them giving me a Diners Club Black Metal Credit Card to me (they had previously given me a Millennia credit card to me when I'd applied for the DCB in early 2022, and after some months of using it I closed it in December 2022 because I wanted a rewards credit card and not a cashback credit card), in July 2025, the application for DCB was finally approved, and I was happy at last. But then suddenly, after 3 days, HDFC mysteriously again rejected the application citing "internal reasons", and that they'll again give me the Millennia card I'd closed in December 2022. So I escalated to the
escalation.cc@hdfcbank.com email, which continuously delayed it for 1.5 months, and by end of August, said that they can only give me Millennia card. I then escalated to the grievance redressalcc email, but same result, and now I have escalated it the PNO and even CC'd the email to HDFC MD, Sashidhar Jagdishan. Finally now I have received an email from the MD desk senior management that they'll review my application once again, why it was rejected after being approved.
Now my question is, should I go ahead with complaining to the RBI BO if the senior management desk too says that they can only give me Millennia? I am thinking that if I complain to the RBI, I will do so on 3 grounds - arbitrary rejection of my preferred card (DCB) after approval without clear reasons, pushing me to accept a card product I previously had and now don't want (Millennia) and continuous delays which is causing me mental harassment.
Should I proceed with this course of action if even the senior management again pushes me for Millennia? Or is there a better option?
