I wanted to share a recent experience with HDFC Bank regarding Monthly milestone voucher for my DCB Plastic Credit Card.
For the month of Feb-2025, the benefits were locked even after spending 80k+. On the smartbuy portal it was showing as 79828, but from the statement and my calculations I spent around 87k.
I raised a query to Diner's black support on 5th March. They were really fast, and I got a call by evening explaining that it might be an issue with settlement of the transaction. However, when I checked, all my expenses were by 25th and there were 3 working days before month ends, so settlement explanation seemed unlikely.
I raised a case with HDFC this time on 6th March and the wild ride begin. I got few calls from them (different agents) and below were few of the funny explanations. No one even said it might be due to settlement. Apart from the calls, they were repeatedly sending the same template responses that you did not meet the criteria of 80k+ spending.
This circus went on until 19th March and 10 email threads. That is when I decided I need to escalate this matter now.
After escalation, it was still the same, they replied on 20th that I've not met the spend criteria. This time I got help from my good friend Chat GPT and asked it to write an email.
It still did not have any impact on them, and I again got the same old response that I've not met the criteria.
Finally, I was furious by this time and here is what I sent
Finally, I received an email today, which vouchers I want for the milestone. Hopefully they send me the voucher soon.

- Sir, Add-On card spending is not counted towards milestone - I gave this guy a proper lesson on the whole purpose of add-on cards issuance. He finally said he will check and come back
- Sir, smartbuy spending is not counted towards mileston - I was furious. Again, he said he will check and get back
- Sir, you'll receive the voucher after 90 days can I close this ticket now. and I said keep the ticket open until I get my vouchers
