You can redeem by using NetBanking even if you don't have Bank Account Just Click on the Credit Card only option on HDFC Netbanking login page.

Maybe you need to wait for purchase to be settled or the statement to be generated.

Existing points can only be redeemed after a new statement has been generated. For example, points added in March can be redeemed only after your statement for April has been generated.

you have to wait till next statement, after 1-2 statement you can redeem

So, for the purchases made in March, I saw the points getting credited on April 1. Now to redeem them, I need to wait till May 1?

After your April month statement generated, next day you can redeem those points.
