Hi,

I am Regalia First CC holder. Currently it is no conditional LTF. They provided me when HDFC was blocked by RBI.

I emailed HDFC support team if they can upgrade my card to Millennia with LTF offer. Because in Regalia First rewards point value is less.

HDFC Support team replied that -

  1. Millennia Upgrade is possible.
  2. But they can offer first year free and If I purchase Rs. 1Lacs then no yearly charges will be applicable.
Now my average monthly spend is not high and it is around Rs.5K - 6K.

What is your view on it ? Shall I upgrade it or stay with Regalia First and apply for Amazon Pay credit card ? (I am Amazon customer mostly).
Benefit of Regalia First is -> Domestic and International lounge access.

Thanks in advanced.

Regalia Premium is semi-premium card and it is good if you travel a lot.

Millennia is good for shopping ( 5% cashback).

There were previously two variants of Regalia. First and the other is just Regalia. The first variant was basically a knocked down version and it isn't a premium card.

Comparatively Millennia is better in its rewards and it's primarily a cashback card. I don't think Millennia is a premium card but a good one if your targeting cashback

HDFC bank is not accepting new applications for Regalia First Credit Card. I am holding it and I got a conditional LTF for Millennia. Had to spent 50K in 90 days to make it LTF. I hold basic account with 5K AMB. Priority Pass is also possible using Regalia First.

You may get Millennia or MoneyBack after expiry of Regalia First. You should get FYF Millennia and near to anniversary year, try to convince them to make it LTF.

Thanks for your opinion. Let me try my luck again.

What will be your suggestion for me ?

if they don't provide LTF Millennia then shall I -
1. Upgrade my old debit card to Millennia Debit
2. And apply for Amazon icici card ?

I'd only speculate the overall cashback for your spends can still touch 1000 annually and that would cancel out the renewal fee every year.

Since it's FYF no harm in getting it now.

Millennia debit card definitely if you can.

I personally don't see a point in getting Amazon ICICI card unless you cannot get Millennia in the first place. If you want to get an ICICI card that is free for life, for ahead

With Millenia CC, I'm currently getting around 1050 p.m cashback and then paying the bill+wallet loading/rotating with Millenia DC, total 1450 p.m with these two cards. And also hitting the 1L quarterly milestone. So that's around 21400 profit every year with Millenia combo for 4L spends, which comes to 5.35% cashback. And Amazon Pay card for everything else.

Want the Axis Airtel card for 800 p.m more cashback but they keep rejecting.

Don't have enough money or risk appetite to keep rotating money with rewards cards for 2-3% higher milestone rates.
