Is it meaningful to upgrade my Regalia card to Regalia gold?
Got an email from HDFC to upgrade the card with no joining fees. Don’t know if it’s worth moving from LTF to FYF with very low usage.

Obviously, if I am offered Infinia today, I will accept. My thought behind not going for RG gold upgrade is they may not offer me another upgrade for the next few months/years. What would you do if you were in my place?

I would take gold FYF and spend your budgeted spends I.e. heaps, and get LE .. either way you are looking at least two years from now to get upgrade..

If your last 6 months spends is more than 8L, infinnia is possible. you have decent spends, to make it 8L you can put something in nps. That part won't be a issue.

But there are some factors to consider.With 5.4L cl chances of getting pre-approved Infinnia is slim. With manual upgrade, For both Infinnia income criteria and required limit of 8l limit, they might ask for 2.75l-3L net salary credit.

If anyway it is going to be manual application, why not take up reg gold now. You might get le automatically. In next 6months spend at least 8L, and by that time infinnia reserve might be launched and they might be more liberal with infinnia approval.
Also fyf or ltf doesn't matter as you will very easily cross the fee reversal milestone.

There is no harm in trying. But if you won't reach fee reveesal(4L ) with your natural spend pattern, then don't take up the fyf offer.

HDFC has started to bombard me now with messages and mails to upgrade to Regalia Gold FYF from Regalia LTF 🤣

My brother have ltf regalia card valid till apr 2025.
Today he got mail to upgrade to regalia gold fyf.
Will they send regalia ltf again on card expiry if he dont opt for paid upgrade?
He dont need millenia/ regalia gold. He just want to use priority pass ltf .
His expenditure on cards are very less.

Yes, as long as that card in circulation and bank still supports it and not discontinued.

But they will charge annual fee from 2nd year onward. Why pay when we have LTF Regalia? I got the same offer 4 months back and got it again today. You are right, seems like they are pushing everyone to Regalia Gold. Will emailing HDFC for LTF Regalia Gold help ? (since existing regalia is already LTF)

Potential for regalia gold to benefit needs 5L spends in a year for good value back.. (without those spends we won't get much benefits and with those benefits, we will get value + fee waiver).
