Remove mobile from amazon pay upi

How can we remove mobile number from amazon upi id and change it to custom id.
Currently my primary id is 9888xxx@apl and I want it to raman@apl , does not want mobile number to be in upi id

UPI section - choose bank account - click on 3 dots- manage upi id - add upi id - enter your desired vpa

That only gives option to add upi, but does not give option to make it as primary upi id

Okay, is there a way to pay the recent merchant or we need to scan the qr code everytime for same merchant?
