Rent payment with super premium cards

There have been a number of posts but would like to create 1 master post to summarize the best current rent payment strategy for the superpremium cards (infinia/dcb, magnus, reserve, plat charge, stanc ultimate)

1. HDFC Cards (Infinia, DCB); Redgiraffe is the best solution with no upper limits and c.0.5% charge. The MCC here is insurance so until that loophole is plugged, one can continue to earn RPs and get milestone benefits

2. Axis Cards (Magnus, Reserve); Payzapp + Redgiraffe if you are able to add your card. If not, then BharatNXT but uptil a limit of 1L/month. No real proper solutions other than that?

3. Amex Cards (Plat Charge); full RPs but doesnt seem to have a cost effective + dependable way to pay. Folks have suggested Mobikwik with charges of 2.5%+ leaves nothing on the table. Any other ideas ?

4. StanC Ultimte; through redgiraffe and despite recent devaluation still offers 2% RPs for rental payments. So if the infnia route is plugged, this can be a fallback option

Any other ideas for these bunch of cards?

I had done rental payment transaction (Redgirraffe) on Payzapp with HDFC Infinia card on Mar/13 but no rewards points so far. Probably they have already fixed the MCC issue.

Anyone got rewards points for rent transaction on Payzapp recently?

Initially I had checked for points around 00:30 hours but i got the reward points later today.. Probably their servers are in timezone which is off by few hours. So indeed the rent transaction are still accruing points via PayZapp! 😎

Now, I am waiting for the new PayZapp app to add magnus. Upon registering, PayZapp 2.0 is giving me an error "Duplicate users found" as there are more than 1 user with same mobile number and DoB. As per Payzapp customer care the reason being that my mobile number is still not migrated to PayZapp 2.0 but i wonder if they know what they are saying 🙂

Hey guys. Quick update. I got an sms asking me to upgrade to the new payzapp app saying the old payzapp app will be deprecated soon. And I'm able to add the axis magnus card.
Please go ahead and upgrade your pazyapp 😀

I used redgiraffe + HDFC billpay option with Diners black 1 week ago will this be counted for milestone benefits/RP? if it doesn't, is using Payzapp 2.0 better option for accumulation of milestone benefits? I upgraded to Payzapp 2.0 today itself.

The redgiraffe+HDFC bill pay worked for me in first week of March, so should still be working I guess. Will update again in first week of April.

Try logging in on mycards.hdfcbank.com and check the reward points. The points from ongoing month get's added to accumulated points but not in redeemable points, so that difference is what you accumulated this month.

Confirmed that infinia + redgiraffe still works with full RPs. Just did a transaction and accrued RPs show up in Smartbuy portal

Hey folks, I'm pretty new to this game. I want to pay rent through my Magnus card and make it count for the monthly milestone. I understand that it probably might be possible through Redgiraffe + Payzapp.

Basically in the new Payzapp app, you can do the following steps

1. Setup your rental agreement payment through redgiraffe
2. Login to the new Payzapp app and add the magnus card
3. Pay rent through Payzapp via redgiraffe (when you click on rent payment, you will see option to put redgiraffe id and phone number to pull up your registration)
4. Select to pay via Magnus app

Note that this isnt a fool proof method yet since the MCC for redgiraffe is currently under the insurance category and may change anytime. If that happens, then this would not be counted towards milestone

can you please confirm the rental amount? Heard that there is a cap to the payment via Magnus? if its insurance spends, then there should be no cap ideally

Insurance has a cap of 6k points per transaction, nothing else.

But need to take care if rental is more than 50k. Responsibility of deducting TDS and depositing it lies with the tenant as per IT.
