Requesting Advice on POS Transaction

Hi,

I have to pay Rs.75000+ to a merchant for electronics sale via POS machine only. As I don't have any experience in dealing with large scale transaction like this before, so need your inputs on the same.

My query is How to deal with POS FAILED Transaction (if)?
- What to do if transaction failed in merchant place ?
- Any experience do you have ?
- Shall I use Credit Card or Debit card ? Do Credit Card provide purchase protection ?

NOTE : I am HDFC Bank holder and I do have HDFC Debit (2.5L Day Limit) + Credit Card (3L Limit). I am not running behind rewards points. Need your inputs.

Generally transactions don't fail, and if u r not after reward points or any other gains, u can use any of credit or debit card. Worst case if it fails and money gets deducted, it will get reversed automatically

Best benefit of a credit card that is seriously underrated is the ability to chargeback against any disputed transaction. 1st, the transactions don't generally fail. 2nd even if it fails, it wouldn't hit your cc balance and even if it does, you can ask the merchant for transaction reversal. This is usually performed by the bank on its own 3. An off chance. Even if the amount is debited and not reversed, you can contact your issuing bank, provide all the evidences and ask them to chargeback. The amount will be deducted from your outstanding balance right away until the dispute is resolved.

Don't worry use a credit card and rake in the rewards points and keep a piece of mind.
