Retaintion offer by SBI Cards

I have 2 year old SBI BPCL credit card. I am using it just for sale discounts. This year I am not reaching 50k spend for fee reversal. I have called customer care to close the card. They promise me that they will reverse my fee and gave me a ticket number. Should I trust them for fee reversal in my situation? I have negotiated for LTF but they said no LTF offer is showing right now, may try next year for it.

So I have to call the customer care and ask for annual fee reversal? Or i have to email them, please describe me the trick that you are using.

The process i follow is to call the customer care and ask them to cancel and in max 10-15 mins the retention team calls asking for reason and I ask them to make this card LTF to which they say there is no such offer but offer me a renewal fee reversal. I agree to it and in 2-3 days time, it will reflect in the CC.

I will give it a try. I hope it also work for me.
I can call them after the renewal fee is imposed on the card and not before that.
