Just a general discussion on different credit cards reward points earning comparison and impact on regular spends. I am not sure if credit cards give points on pro-rated spends. Kindly confirm.
I am taking example of few popular cards only.
1. ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card - Earn 6 Reward Points for every Rs 200 spent. This has highest spent:earn ratio. Fo ex if a customer spent 190/-, he will not get any points, same way if another customer spent 395/-, he will get only 6 reward points.
2. HDFC Infinia Metal Credit Card - Earn 5 Reward Points for every Rs.150 spent. so no points for 140/- or 5 points for 290/- etc.
3. Axis Atlas Card - Earn 2 Reward Points for every Rs 100 spent.
4. AMEX Platinum Travel Card - Earn 1 Reward Point for every Rs. 50 spent
As a human nature we can not monitor or calculate for each txns, but is it a good idea for those doing a lot of regular and small txns?
