I went to open Bob super saver account on Monday, they told bank account can open only on Tuesday and Friday( branch in Noida sec18), I was taken aback, the pvt banks will come to your home for opening an account, but psu banks simply don't care. So, will try next week, let's see what happens.

Tried opening union udaan account for wife, they said it will take about a week. Last year I opened union sbpre account, it was opened in a day, does account opening take week?

No. For me within 10 minutes all done.
I opened recently.
Even I didn't fill the form. Banker only filled the form and asked me to just put signature.
Got RSDC and Passbook same day.

Last year when I opened, I had a similar experience, this time wife had to fill the form and the dealing lady told it would take about a week, she looked so lethargic.
