SBI Card Account Name Change

Hi everyone,

I just noticed there is a spelling mistake in my name registered with SBI cards account..

Earlier I got the embossed name corrected in my Card.. But just noticed in the statement received there is an error in my spelled name..

if anyone faced this issue, please do share how to get the same corrected..

Can it be done through the app..

You are in for an infinite loop. Same issue with my wife's SBI credit card. You have to visit branch and even after visiting branch next renewal same old misspelled name got embossed on her card. Go visit the branch as via mail you will get tired of pointing mistakes on card, in their system in statement etc. Also don't expect it will get fixed anytime soon.

Even in this digital age, basic name modification can’t be done properly… tells how age old software is run by SBI.. pathetic

Yes Sir! and on top of that it was SBI elite so priority pass with that was also misspelled. Still after 2 years name is incorrect in both Savings account and CC, both have different customer care so you have to deal with two idiots sometimes, still this issue persists, now thinking of closing the SBI account.

As SBI is a govt owned and they don't care for an average account holder.. better to go with a good private bank in your area

Their idiocy is unmatched. I requested to emboss my full name on the card. An idiot of theirs updated it with my Father's name. So today they dispatched the card with my father's name printed on it. I contacted CC, as being idiots they tried with some lame excuses and then took my request. After an hour, I got a message that the request for embo name change has been declined. Again I contacted an idiot, explained everything for almost 30 minutes, then he asked me to send a request for kyc renewal. What I did was wrote an email, explained everything in detail with SR numbers and each idiots name and sent it to every single email of SBICARD. Somehow I managed to get the name of the idiot who committed mistake. Now let me get my embo name changed, then I will file a complaint against him.
 
in my case both my spelled account name & email are incorrect..

the sbi card app does not allow me to change my email through OTP.. I am waiting to correct my email first.. after that I will be writing them to correct my spelled name..

Dealing with SBI is same. By the time you get a solution you will have another set of problems.
It's been 10 years plus since I opened the account. They have this weird thing called account name and CIF Name. A syllable is missing from my name in CIF, I noticed it while doing NEFT. The idiot at branch said - isase kuch fark nahi padta hai, aapka naam account me sahi hai, cif ko koi mayne nahi hai isse. I was like who am I talking to....AND 10 years on, the name stays same. Each time same gospel. Now even I have given up.
 
I got my email changed yesterday. I will be writing to them from the new email for name correction. Hopefully it works as they insisted I write from the registered email with them.
 
I had written to them about name spelling correction in card statement. I got a SMS that my correspondence name has been changed. Waiting for next statement to see the changes.

Also am not sure if account name & correspondence name is same.

Account name is the KYC name.
Correspondence name is also KYC name, but sometimes, it happens they keep the embo name as correspondence name.

What appears on the app's home page is embossed name.

However, be informed, Sbi card has three name system viz. Account/kyc, correspondence, and embossed. And, interestingly, all three can be different in one account. I had this fiasco, and it took them to send me 4 cards until corrections.

When I login through desktop, home page top left screen my name has always been correctly spelled over there..

That's correct.

Now your correspondence is updated to KYC name.
