Sbi card refusal need to file complaint with rbi ombudsman

Rcbian

TF Buzz
I have a sbi card which is 2 years old and they have converted it to LTF. I recently applied for sbi BPCL card (499rs variant) but my application was declined. I mailed the customer support to reconsider my application and give exact reason for refusal. They are not giving any proper reason/response.

Now I want to file complaint with rbi as there was no strong reason to deny the card.
Please guide for the same.
Thank you

Please check below post to register complaint on rbi ombudsman portal. Step by step guide given:

Have you tried contacting the customer support head/nodal officer/principal nodal officer yet?
If not try with them first and if you don't get a satisfactory answer, ring the rbi ombudsmen.

imo if people start contacting the rbi ombudsmen directly for such reasons without following the proper grievance redressal structure/levels, it'll get hard to get any monetary compensation in the near future for genuine serious reasons.. iykwim

Just mail to principle nodal office and they will tell you the exact reason.

if everything is ok with your profile then it may be rejected due to Over leveraged issue which is quite common with SBI nowadays.

my application was also rejected then mailed to pno they said overleveraged, i tried to reduce credit cards and limit reductions and tried to apply offline after a month but it was again rejected due to same reason..

So, If you have many credit cards or a loan then it is for sure that rejection was due to overleveraged.

I have around 8 cards right now
But no loan and good cibil. So how to guess whether it is over leveraged or not?

If your total limit is anything more then 3 times your Annual gross income(ITR), that'd be considered overleveraged by sbi, but this isn't a hard and fast rule, this is just what picked up from other TFCians

Then it shouldn't be over leveraged for me. I will need to check Thanks

Despite being an AGM-IT-SYSTEMS (VRS optee) of SBI, who once had close to 10L total limit on my SBI Gold Employee Card and 2 other SBI cards, today my SBI CB is having only less than 3L limit. I had surrendered all other cards after I got SBI CB card.

SBICards is relatively strict n usually does not accept requests casually.

My App or Net login also does not show any LE option.

And, having known them for so long, I have decided NOT to bother them for LE or complain against them.
