can you explain in detail pleaseI paid insurance premium of LIC on amazon and got 5%. I did txn in Oct 2022, not sure about current status.
If you pay directly on insurance website, it might be considered for utility and get 1%.
so you went to Amazon dot in and open Amazon pay and select the insurance company, enter details and pay.. in this wayWhat details you want to know?
What's your premium amount, insurance company and type (life, general, health)?
Could be 1%Is it giving 5% on amazon direct insurance payment? @bugmenot
@bugmenot Are you still getting 5% CB? I tried a payment on Amazon.in, the merchant name for insurance is AMAZONINSESC (both with partial gc and without gc).No idea about current scenario, last I did in oct 2022 and got 5%. I have upcoming premium in March 2023, so can't check soon.

Probably it may have dynamic mcc based on insurance amount. I have premium amount less than 10K. This is just wild guess.Interesting. I recently did a bill payment where the merchant name was same and got 1% cb.
For normal orders, the merchant name was AMAZON PAY INDIA Private Limited (NOT the shortened Pvt Ltd) which gave 5%.

Can't rely on merchant names. Mcc code matters and that's not visible to us
