SBI cashback credit card - USD notes purchase via bookmyforex and online payment in USD on Agoda

Hi, is anyone aware if we get 5% cashback for purchasing USD currency notes from bookmyforex using SBI cashback credit card? Bookmyforex charges a small fee for allowing us to use credit card but I wanted to know if we get cashback in this case or will this count as ATM withdrawal leading to high interest rate penalty?

Second question is regarding hotel booking via Agoda, Booking.com in USD, will this count as online transaction and give 5% cashback? There would obviously be 3.5% Forex markup fee, but curious to know if we get 5% cashback for online hotel payments made in USD.

anyone tried with thomas cook?

For everyone's info :
I got the quote from Thomas cook (which was higher than Bookmyforex). Bargained a bit on the call (still final quote higher than Bookmyforex). Then they reduced the exchange rate which was originally listed on website. A payment link was shared by them on mail.

Then I paid exchange rate + 0.18% gst + 1% card processing fees.

I got 5% cashback (13/01/2025). Merchant name: Thomas Cook India Limited Bangalore.

Bookmyforex charges 2.5% for swiping the card.

So I would suggest others to opt for Thomas cook using SBI credit card. As the final price with card & cashback is less than Bookmyforex + merchant name comes as Thomas cook (so sure short cashback)
