Issue Resolved Sbi rewardz query

The highlighted issue has been resolved by the bank/financial institution.

tharun

TF Premier
I have recently(may) created sbi instaplus account and recieved visa debit card (which I have not activated).
Today I got a mail from sbi rewardz that I have 350 points however I have not created a account on sbirewardz app nor done a transaction with sbi debit card
If the mail is real how do I use my reward points and also can I activate my card now it's been more than 2months receiving card or should I ask the cc to issue me new virtual card.
Also iam unable to access rewadz section in yono app it shows a dialogue box "we are unable to process your request, please try later"

Edit

created a new account sbi rewardz app
Points were still there credited manually for
*yono registration 100
*Kyc update 50

*Vkyc account opening 200

You guys must have received points for KYC, WhatsApp registration, YONO registration, etc.
You can find more information by clicking here: https://rewardz.sbi/content/overview

Follow these steps to redeem your points: @tharun @praful47

1. Open your internet banking in Chrome on your laptop - https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/
2. Log in successfully after entering OTP.
3. On the left side of the screen, look for "SBI Rewardz."
4. Click on it, then select "Click here to redeem your points."
5. Agree to the terms by clicking "I agree."

You will be automatically redirected to the SBI Rewardz website.

You can use your points for recharges, bill payments, and even credit card bill payments...

Thanks for letting me know
Anyway for safety I kept a reminder in my calendar for card blocking
Now should I call them for virtual card or just mail them to block my debit card and reissue a new virtual debit card

I have done it via rewardz app
Thanks anyway for your detailed explanation
However iam still unable to access sbi rewardz section on yono app
And also how should I disable my physical DC but able to use virtual debit card

Hotlist or block your debit card through net banking.
After blocking apply for virtual debit card
Will I be charged for virtual debit card?
How many days will it take for sbi to process this?
After blocking my physical DC will sbi send me new physical DC?
Does virtual debit card offer same benefits as physical one for rewardz

@6ix9ine I tried to register for WhatsApp banking but it's showing service is not available for your account type .
What can be done ?
Strange, I have normal saving account. What's your account variant?

Try this:

Send “Hi” from your WhatsApp Number to +919022690226 and follow the instructions given by the Chat-Bot

Or

Send an SMS in the following format “WAREG ACCOUNT NUMBER” to +917208933148 from your registered mobile number. For example, if your Account number is 123456789, then send an SMS as WAREG 123456789 to +917208933148.

  • If registration is successful then you will get a confirmation message on your Whatsapp linked to your registered mobile number

You are not alone, this seems to be an issue on SBI's end. I've tried 3 other accounts and encountered the same error. It works fine for my account though, so I'm not sure what's causing it :/

You can block it via net banking, then call customer care and ask them to permanently close it (if you want). This will change the debit card status from 'BLOCKED' to 'CLOSED.' As for issuing a virtual debit card, I believe you can do that from the YONO app itself. I’m using physical DC.

Virtual DCs are free, but make sure to apply only VISA or MASTERCARD. Rupay virtual debit cards tend to cause issues.

If you block it via net banking, it's instant. SBI net banking is incredibly efficient.

After blocking my physical DC will sbi send me new physical DC?
Nope

This is a tricky one. On paper, virtual cards offer better rewards than physical ones, but SBI contradicts this in their terms and conditions. Some say virtual cards won’t earn points, while others claim they will. It’s a hit or miss (according to me).

Can we have virtual as well as physical dc?
Also are rewards clubbed for both?
Another thing which i wanted to ask was, i paid a few bills using my physical MC dc but i want a physical Visa dc. Card is due for expiration next month. Shall i close my card and select a new variant or wait for it to be expired and get the new one delivered and then again ask for variant change?

I have no idea about virtual DC, as I don't use it. @NShah might be able to answer your query.

You don't need to do anything. Just log in to your internet banking, order a VISA debit card and start using it. Let SBI do the rest.
