SBI Unipay not allowing CC payment

From last 3 days I've tried to pay my SBI cc bill of 18.5k through HDFC Billpay. But it is not going through and twice amount stuck for 3 days.
Now today I tried to pay it through SBI Unipay, but it shows somthing like permissible payment limit. This is new to me and I've to pay any how today to clear it before due date. I've HDFC Platinum and Millennia dc. Suggest other ways to get minimum 1% reward rate.

Im not 100% sure but MCC - 4900 Utility, Try Rs100 payment and ask your bank your transaction MCC Code.

I dont have Canara Bank account yet. How can I still use it?

Even via Airtel app it has refunded after a while. It seems like the amount being larger is why SBI is rejecting? Cant be sure.

What is the MCC thing have to do here?

This was such a cluster F.

After multiple attempts to pay via PZ & Airtel last few days I gave up.

Today I tried piece by piece method suggested by @Abhishek012 using
1000 x 5 - via Airtel App. Then it stopped me as not allowing to retrieve bill more times. I dont want it but automated bull.
Then there was 3011 outstanding balance remaining from the 8011.

So paid that via Canara Bank portal that was suggested by him.

Success.

Now the drama of whether anymore can be paid or received or rejected by SBI.

SBI keeps sharing 16k amount and given after the refunds outstanding is 8k.

But the bloody apps & bill retreival auto pull and sticks to 16k - which SBI apparently is not allowing me to pay.

This must be the issue and I will try to see if and how much more I can pay to SBI to see where this experiment breaks & blocks.

PS: Tried to put another 1000 Rs after paying the Outstanding balance and it fails at Canara Bank BBPay.

It has to do with SBI idiots blocking anything more than Outstanding Balance, while still feeding us the Bill Due amount repeatedly.

Try my ways.. small pieces but see the logic of why its blocking is detailed.

Not sure if same applies to your case.

So thanks for the Airtel App & Canara site suggestions. Can you please/ name other such BBPS options for future use?

Whats funny is its likely SBI rejecting it but not even acknowledging it as an attempted transaction while PZ and these vendors cant give clear data on whats causing all this.

I didn't get any payment stuck issues with sbi unipay, used this platform for first time today.
Paid amex cc bill in parts , first 100, then 10,000 and now 20k still remaining to be paid.
Payment immediately reflected at amex as I got confirmation sms from them for payment recieved.

Contrary to the people's opinion here, even I am able to do partial payments multiple times, whereas the bill was 31k.

Just hoping the mcc code is 4812 utility only, as I am eyeing for RBL enterprise 1000 cb on utility payments. But it's on mastercard network, even called rbl customer care, they can't even tell the mcc.

Any trick for flight mcc as well? As it gives 5%cb on flight bookings

Wait 2-3 days, once your trxn settled. Call RBL bank and ask.

BBPS is UPI of Bill payment system in India.

Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) is an integrated bill payment system in India offering interoperable and accessible bill payment service to customers through a network of agents of registered member as Agent Institutions (AI), enabling multiple payment modes, and providing instant confirmation of payment.

By the way BBPS is now called "NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited (NBBL)". NBBL is also "for-Profit" company.

NBBL is now separate company from NPCI and has a different CEO.
