SBI VISA/MC to RuPay - conversion

Today I sent a mail to SBI CC customer care with a request to convert my existing MasterCard varient Credit Card into a RuPay varient. Has anyone ever tried this before? If yes, what was the outcome?

update:- Received the card a week back. Was a whole task to get it converted but finally.

The most easiest way to get converted from visa to rupay , is to add crpc@rbi.org.in in cc while sending mail to sbi cc . This worked for me and converted mine sbi bpcl from visa to rupay in first attempt only!! The most easiest way i think so

I have to follow up as they asked me to sign a doc and all the BS and gave me a date of 28th Aug max. Lets see whats the status. I will keep you guys updated

How many days it took to complete the whole process from the date of sending the mail?

10-15 DAYS in my case ! got issued rupay card on 14th day

Some email like why do you need a RuPay card and no objection certificate and all that.

Can see the converted BPCL Card to Rupay card in the app today. Yet to receive the physical card yet.

Received the physical card today. They gave a smooth and glassy finish for Rupay card unlike textured finish for VISA card which had a rich look.

Latest MITC file added RuPay variant. However, it doesn't mean card is live.

Use SBI Card app

Scroll down click with connect with us.

Select the mailbox option.

Customer care may initially refuse; however, escalating the matter should get it done.

Additionally, I've heard that they now accept conversion requests from Visa to Rupay over a call. You can try that option as well.
