My first CC was ICICI Apay credit card and used it extensively for 1 year (for LE till 5L). Later i started applying and got other cards
1. HDFC Regalia Gold
2. HDFC Tata Neu Infinity
3. BOB HPCL Energie
4. Indusind Legend
5. Airtel Axis
6. MRCC
7. Gold charge
8. SBI Cashback
9. Kotak IOCL
10. HSBC Live+
Cibil 782
Experian 796
Have ICICI savings account with around 50k MAB and ICICI demat account with considerable portfolio.
All this while I had been trying to get a core card from ICICI as well. Initially I was looking to get ICICI HPCL supersaver LTF, tried a lot through many routes and finally gave up when nothing worked. During this period, when i used to enter my details in ICICI imobile app to apply for a new credit card, i used to get only the following cards as LTF
Platinum chip
Coral
Coral HPCL
Also the process used to get my salary details from HDFC using the account aggregator option and 6.5L CL was offered for these cards. But i didn't want to get any of these cards and gave up.
Later, I saw a post that said Sapphiro could be obtained LTF on salary basis and my salary was above what was mentioned. Again i tried to multiple routes (RM, Twitter, Email and call support) to no avail and i gave up.
This week, i had an idea that why not get coral as LTF and keep it as a card only for ICICI Bank offers. But when i tried to apply today, i was pretty surprised to find out that even coral is being offered only as paid and no account aggregator option meant CL of only 2.25L (might be enough for me, still). My LTF options now are only platinum chip and HPCL coral.
My requirements are
1. I need a core card for ICICI Bank offers
2. It would be nice if I could later upgrade that card to LTF Sapphiro in the future (for BMS bogo)
My questions are
1. Which is better to have and has better chances for upgrade? Platinum chip or HPCL coral
2. Should i take either of them or wait for more pre-approved offers?
3. Any idea why the account aggregator option is not available anymore? 6.5L CL had a nice ring to it
4. Why do ICICI have to do a hard enquiry before the application even starts 😵? I have had 6 enquiries since Jan 2024 without getting even one card.
