Shuold I close these unused cards? Suggestions needed

Here are my inactive, unused, useless drawer cards that I want to close before this year ends. All of them are LTF and I got them for some specific uses earlier, but no longer being used actively. I am listing down the reasons why I think I can close them, and otherwise.
Looking for suggestions or opinions on whether I should go ahead and close them.
  1. ICICI Amazon Pay - This is my first credit card that I got in December 2022. I used to use it for Amazon 5% cashback, but of late I have not been using this card at all. Most purchases have either shifted to other quick commerce apps or I am using amazon pay vouchers, or other points and miles cards. This is also the highest credit limit card for me 10.3L but I am not using it actively at all.

  2. ICICI Sapphiro - I got it when used to have salary account in ICICI, it is LTF, and shared limit with Amazon Pay (10.3L). I used to use it when lounge access was unconditional. Later they made it spend based. After that the only use was BMS BOGO. Now that is also spend based. So overall this card is also useless for me, I have not used this card more than once in the last 1 year.

  3. Indusind Tiger - I use this card only rarely for BMS 500 off now. I am not a heavy movie goer, maybe as a family we go for 2-3 movies per year, not more than that. Earlier I used to use it for lounge access, but now I have other better lounge cards, so this is not needed for lounge. Another use is Visa Signature TimesPrime offer. I used this card once for getting the TP offer. But I have other Visa Signature cards, so I think this is also not needed.

  4. Federal Celesta - This card also, I got it by luck, and I used to use it for lounge access when it was unconditional. Later they brought spend conditions for lounge access and I stopped using it. I don't use it for any bank specific offer as well. It is lying unused for a long time.

  5. IDFC First Wealth - I got this because it was Visa Infinite variant and I didn't have any visa infinite card. I have not used it at all for any spends. But used it once to avail GHA Discovery hotel Titanium status that came along with Visa infinite variant. But other than that I haven't used any of the card features at all.

  6. BOB Eterna - I just took this card last week, I never had any plans of using it, I just took it because of the LTF offer. I could have taken the Visa Infinite variant, but I took the Rupay Select one. I don't see any usecase for this card, but I am thinking of cancelling it along with the others.
By cutting down 6 cards, I will reduce my exposure to the unused credit leverage and also reduce my unnecessary load.
I am not worried about the short term impact on credit score even if I close them. That's not a major concern for me.
And this could give me space to get some better cards later in the future. I am looking for reasons why I may keep any of these cards at all.
Thanks in advance!

So I'll try to summarise what usecases I am using these cards for currently:

CardPotential future useAlternate options
ICICI Amazon PayAmazon purchases for 5% cashbackApay vouchers etc.
ICICI SapphiroICICI instant discountsNot used this ever.
Indusind TigerBMS BOGO, Lounge accessHave other cards, can let go of this
Federal CelestaCan be closed-
IDFC First WealthVisa infinite offersCan let go of this.
BOB EternaCan be closed-

ICICI gets so much hate for its lousy rewards structure but over the last 10 years it is one bank that has consistently come up with 10% instant discount offers on a whole variety of merchants. Next best in terms of those 10% instant discount offers is SBI followed by HDFC as a distant third.

That is a very good reason to keep one non-Amazon Pay ICICI card with you, preferably an LTF one. Your ICICI Sapphiro ticks that box.
IDFC too has been coming with 10% instant discount offers at least during the festival season at most electrical appliance stores (Vijay Sales, Reliance Digital, Croma). Your IDFC Wealth ticks that box.

IndusInd, Federal and BOB are all niche. As for Amazon Pay ICICI, it is often described as the best ICICI card but it doesn't work for 10% instant discount and you already have other options for the other uses. So, flush them all out and control your urge to get any new card this year so that you don't have to put another post like this in Dec'26 🤣

Closed Federal Celesta today.
Reason: Don't find much bank offers for Federal. Haven't used this card in the last 2 years.

Closing spree: Closed BOB Eterna.
Had to call customer care and place the closure request.
Reason: Took it for FOMO. Not useful for my spends.

So mostly that's it for this year. Closed 4 cards and retained 2.

Closed:
  • Federal Celesta
  • BOB Eterna
  • ICICI Apay and Sapphiro
Retained:
  • Indusind Tiger (for BMS BOGO, lounge, visa signature benefits)
  • IDFC First Wealth (for district BOGO, RSA, visa infinite benefits, etc)

Keep ICICI Sapphiro only. Close ICICI APay which is not useful for you.

Suddenly in the evening I got a thought and went ahead and cancelled both ICICI cards too. Goodbye Amazon Pay and Sapphiro.
You were useful when you were good.
Lighter wallet, happy wallet.
right move bro, certainly if you are coming under heavy spender(means more than 12L per year) and into the game of travel points, then cashback and discount are not beneficial for you.

Your AIM is higher, hence you have to leave the luggage you can't carry till your destination.
Soon 😉 you will drop the last backpack 🎒, for a smooth Journey Ahead.

Good step, i am also going to end relationship with ICICI next year, too much junk people crowded over there.

Earlier bank was having good tech & people but now all thing collapsed.

I wish I had such conviction to close my unused credit cards. Although I dont use Amazon pay credit card but I have developed an emotional attachment to that card. Was my first proper cashback credit card. Holding on to it just for that emotional value😅

Tiger can be set free happily
It’s of no use lol

It’s op requirement to make space for new cards which are easily available in higher order cards from other bank than tiger
One reason is that I wanted to reduce the overall number of cards. 12 was too much.
Now it's 8, still I think it's a little more but Okayish.
I don't want to keep a card idle for 1 year and just use it for one offer that saves me some 500-1000 rs.
Pretty much good with my core cards now. Trying to get hold of higher order cards, which I can use on a daily basis.

3 ideal. 4 still ideal. 😀

Yes the lesser we have we focus more on reaping rewards from those
