From 26th October 2025, Singapore Airlines will be upgrading its daily Singapore - Auckland service with the B777 then with A380, bringing the highly coveted First Class and Suites product to the route.
Currently, this sector is served by the Airbus A350 Long Haul, which does not feature a First Class cabin. The introduction of the A380 makes this one of the most aspirational redemptions in the region.
As of now, the latest redemption availability is showing for 8th November 2025 on the SIN–AKL leg. Seats are only offered on Advantage level, and as expected, they are currently waitlisted. A one-way redemption is pricing at 155,000 KrisFlyer miles for the 9.5-hour journey.
For those looking to experience the Boeing 777-300ER First Class, there’s still an opportunity. The SIN–AKL service (SQ 285) will continue with the 777 through 17th January 2026, and the return AKL–SIN (SQ 286) will be available until 18th January 2026.
From 18th January 2026 onwards, the A380 will take over the route completely, offering the airline’s latest Suites product through to 26th March 2026, as per the current schedule.
This update makes the SIN–AKL route one of the most exciting long-haul options in the network, especially for those aiming to redeem miles for Singapore Airlines’ flagship premium cabins.
Please do note, the Saver and Advantage fare will be increasing as Singapore Airlines is changing its award redemption cost and rule from October 2025.
