Smartbuy - No invoice for Hotel Booking

Dear All,
I've had this experience with 2 out 3 partners of smartbuy. When you book hotel and input the GST details, they should give you a gst invoice, correct? Cleartrip and Yatra DO NOT (No idea on MMT).

Infact, I've fought with both of them, both said that please take from hotel directly. Hotel gets booking from Agoda / expedia (Out of india registered entities and hence no GST payable). Smartbuy has started raising their hands saying please take from OTA. OTA says please take from smartbuy / hotel. Hotel says your booking through agoda. We can not share invoice of 3rd party to you.

This is causing huge losses to me as without invoice, I cant claim expenses in my company.
 
Same experience for me booking through MMT (was not through smartbuy though). While booking, they had mentioned to collect the invoice from the Hotel, hotel said they will provide during checkout. I forgot to ask for it while checking out and later tried contacting the hotel, they said they have shared with MMT and cannot share with me.
 
Some hotels refuses to give and some hotels gives without any issue. Better to enquire before booking
True. My experience: jw mariott refused to give. While some random hotel in Mysore gave. Another one in yercaud didn't give. Does mmt always give invoices? If not, smartbuy can no longer be used for business / hotel booking while on a work trip.

Hotel will give GST invoice.. At time of checkout
 
have also gone through the ordeal- hdfc/smartbuy/cleartrip. no one gives GST bill even after followup. so understood that one shudnt book this route when one has reimbursement claims.. did not pursue HDFC long as they would easily say that one should not use our card for company claims and card is only for personal entertainment bookings only
