yeah looks like voucher redemption is same as cc. So no difference wrt redemption.

Visited branch to convert to 0 mab , they denied saying account cannot be converted to 0 mab if one have multiple savings accounts/ income higher than 1L.
Filled up closure form, account closed by end of the day.
Card account deregistered from the app, again registered with credit card number.
No use of maintaining 50K in STANC.

In my caswe also they wasted a lot of my time explaining me benefits of priority account. But I politely requested them to downgrade my account.

I got the same mail. Seems like the StanC team is out of their minds. First they reduced my CC limit. I was offended and decided to close it. I had some 50k balance on that I made it down to 4k last month and by this month I will definitely close it. Second thing they transferred my personal loan to Kotak (Basically StanC sold their complete personal loan book to Kotak). Now thirdly this Super Value account thing. Today I personally visited their Kochi office and these guys are not very welcoming. They are kind of rude and resisting my request of changing it to a basic account. They says that with basic account I cannot have more than 1L rupees deposited to it in an FY. I am totally fed up with this bank. My previous employer had tie-up with them and that's how I got into this. I kept SC as my primary savings account. Now I am planning to close but I need to do a lot of homework. Like changing mandates, adding payees etc.

BTW, they increased the criteria for Priority Banking form 30L to 50L just two days ago. I think they are trying to be more exclusive which is understandable to be honest.
FYI, foreign banks should never be your primary bank.

I went to the branch last Thursday and filled the form, but still they haven't downgraded the account. What should I do now ?
Went to the branch today and asked them to downgrade the account to basic account. They said if there's going to be either more than 5 transactions or total transactions worth more than 1L in a year the account will be moved from basic to the primary savings account (50k MAB) again.
Don't think it is worth keeping an account like that so have raised a closure request. Bye bye Standard Chartered Bank!
