Sad to know the current fate of Stan Ultimate

Any USP of this card that still exists ?

Redemption in the form of hotel and airline vouchers. I hope that is the way with HDFC, AXIS, AMEX etc.

Problem is lack of reward multiplier, thats where SCB took backseat - otherwise its same redemption (more or like).

Depends on what you want out of redemption. I have this card for last 5 years and used points in past to buy Bigbasket vouchers in bulk. Have literally been buying all my groceries through Ultimate points. But as mentioned above, most of the vouchers having good utility been removed. Some of the good redemption options remain around travel - Taj, ITC, Marriott, Vistara or as someone else said Uber. I personally redeemed points last week for 75k Taj voucher.

Good part is this Taj voucher is different from Amex issued Taj vouchers. This one can be reloaded like normal Taj Experience gift cards sold by Taj. This way you don’t have a sword hanging on your neck to redeem your voucher within a specified period. Validity of voucher when issued is 12 months but you can easily extend it by another 12 months simply by adding 500 to balance.

What can we do with Taj Vouchers ? only staying in Hotel or anything else ?

Stay plus incidentals like F&B, spa etc. I recently paid my entire bill of 90k plus using Taj vouchers.

You have to work out what’s best for you. The options of vouchers listed in OP is fairly accurate. See what you like best. As I said travel options in general will make the most sense. But there are other options as well. Clothing, beauty brands etc.

It is this rather poor list of redemption options that led me to reject an upgrade offer to Ultimate from my Super Value Titanium. That at least is a decent fuel card. I was redeeming points on that one last month, the only worthwhile option was Uber... For someone with a diverse range of cards, this just isn't worth it. And the recent devaluation makes it a really poor option in the category in which it is been offered.

All vouchers are good, if you have purpose of using them. I find myself useful with these hotel/vistara vouchers after they removed the electronics vouchers but like I said, there is no multiplier option in SCB thats limiting the usage and making it strictly 3.33% and never beyond for same amount.

50k per month is not a small amount IMO, even if that person earning 3L per month (that almost 16% of spends on bill payments).

SC ultimate used to be my go to card and have had since past 6-7 years however, since last 2-3 years they been doing away with all good redemptions started with Amazon and flip kart then mmt, cleartrip etc. Since beginning of this year, they even took away electronics GC like croma, reliance etc. idk if this part of their strategy to discourage MS’ers or they plan to focus on something else and not CC business especially premium segment.

This is only the reason I have not opted for ultimate, despite lower cashback rate, I opted for SCB smart card, atleast can use direct cash in statement

I called customer care last week to request for waiving off the annual fee owing to the spends made and not so interesting vouchers or close the card.. they asked me to wait for one more month as they might add new vouchers for the upcoming festival season. Let us see if they bring back the interesting redemptions to revive this card.
