Damn, so much long post. Really appreciate ur time ☺️

Only read the context and share ur opinion irrespective of handle. (No politics)🚫

Reason:👇🏻

Should be non TFCians. Actually the banks should check if the clent is a member of TFC before doing such ‘athyachar’

Most probably these are guys who use the credit card to bank trick of alindam. Then as mentioned in the post, they put in stock market. Take it out before due date, pay the bill, pocket the profit and then repeat. Goes on well till stocks fall !!!

2 Possible Scenarios

  1. Technical Glitch
    • In this case, the issue could be temporary. You may need to wait for around two months, after which SC might send another SMS stating:
    • SC has done this before, where they identified and corrected similar issues.

  2. Actual Limit Reduction
    • If the reduction is intentional it could be part of standard banking practices. While this scenario is less likely, anything is possible in the banking industry.
SMS from SC:
Dear Client, your credit card limit was inadvertently changed on [xxth April 2024]. The limit has been restored on [xxth June 2024]. Regret the inconvenience caused – StanChart.

Similar to my situation, Stan C recently reduced my credit limit from ₹3 lakhs to a mere ₹10K. I believe this is due to multiple Ombudsman complaints filed against the bank over the past 6 months, even though my card is only 8 months old. Since they cannot directly close my card due to RBI regulations, they opted to drastically reduce my limit, likely hoping I would close it myself.

Why scb receiving multiple ombudsman complaints?

Why scb receiving multiple ombudsman complaints?
Over the course of one month, SCB deducted Rs. 1 from my account three times under the description '27Z Block Zeroization' without my knowledge. Even after one month, there was no resolution or explanation for these debits. I raised a complaint with the Ombudsman, along with an additional issue regarding a double inquiry on my CIBIL report, a matter I had been following up on for more than two months. Despite raising both complaints, SCB took another month to inform me that the issue would be resolved within 10 working days, only to close both my Ombudsman complaints without providing any resolution. After waiting for the specified period, there was still no progress, leaving me no choice but to file another complaint with the Ombudsman. This cycle continued, with my cases being closed without resolution until they eventually provided one.

Separately, a few months ago, I began receiving promotional emails at my work email address. Despite raising complaints, these were ignored, so I lodged another complaint with the Ombudsman after a month of inaction. It seems to me that SCB has decided to reduce my credit limit to 10K, potentially as an attempt to have me close my account myself.
