Standard Chartered Smart Credit Card - Online School Fees Payment: +1.18% Fee / 2% CB

I paid my son's online school fees using the Standard Chartered Smart Credit Card. Lets say it has shown a fee of X in the payment link. In CC Transaction details, now it is showing (X+1.18%) as the amount. No help from customer care also. As I got 2% CB on the whole (X+1.18%) amount, it is fine. Still looks unfair to me.

How did you pay? Directly through school payment interface or third party like paytm?
