Suggest me among Amex Platinum, HDFC Infinia, DCB Metal or Axis Magnus Burgundy

I just closed my Amex Platinum after 1 year and in my view, Infinia is the best CC to have and is more than sufficient for my needs. Annual fees is reasonable and requirements for a waiver are manageable for a premium card.

The requirements for Axis Magnus are too much for most people and the card does not give points for some categories like spends on Education. I don't know much about DCB.

Magnus Burgundy / Atlas / DCB... all of them give points for education if it is paid directly on school website

@devrishi123 You can explore the popular cards of various banks and take a decision. On a very high level, these are the types:
  • Amex: Amex trifecta includes Platinum Travel, Membership Rewards, and Gold Charge. However, its limited offline acceptance remains a downside.
  • Axis: Many prefer Axis Bank for its high rewards structure. Some of their popular cards are Axis Atlas, Axis Airtel, and Axis Magnus (or premium options like Reserve, Olympus, Horizon, or M4B). While Axis offers great value, frequent changes to benefits can be a concern.
  • HDFC: HDFC Bank is India’s most stable and rewarding credit card issuer. Some of their popular cards are Tata Neu Infinity, Swiggy, Regalia Gold, Infinia, Diners Club Black, and Biz Black. The only limitation is that they allow only one core card, with others being co-branded or add-ons.
  • ICICI: Traditionally behind in rewards, ICICI has improved with the launch of iShop. The popular cards are Amazon Pay, Emeralde Private Metal, Times Black, Sapphiro or Emeralde PVC. They also have many other co-branded cards (such as with MMT, AdaniOne etc)
  • HSBC: HSBC also has some good cards like Live+, Premier, TravelOne, Platinum, and Taj.
Smaller players like RBL, Yes Bank, IndusInd, and AU Bank struggle to maintain competitive offerings, frequently devaluing rewards and benefits. Their market share remains minimal. As you progress in your credit card journey, you’ll realize that having 2-3 well-chosen cards—either from the same bank or different issuers—is often more rewarding than collecting many different cards.
