Axis Magnus Suggestion on Travel Edge Points conversion

I have around 1.2L Axis travel edge points, with no Axis cc currently, got these points with the old Magnus, then cancelled the card.

Now since the current ratio is 5:2 for me, I'm thinking of converting my old Axis account to Burgundy account, then get Magnus For Burgundy by paying 35k, use it for a year just so that I can convert 1.2L points via 5:4 and then cancel it next year.

So with 5.2 I would be getting 48k converted points, say Accor, but if I spend 35k to get M4B, I can get 96k Accor points. Extra 48k Accor points for 35k, does that makes sense, or any other suggestions?

You're missing the point! You'll have MB for a year too. So you can use that to earn more and later think of cancellation when renewal comes up. Anyways mb is the best out there.

Yeah, apart from getting it to converting the points I can also use M4B for 1 whole year, makes sense. Yeah just wanted someone to validated the approach.

Can I move the money away from axis as soon as I get M4B? What I mean to ask is - they check if I'm a burgundy only during it's renewal time right, once per year?

u need 10L MAB for 3 months min only after that they will issue the card. or else 30L FD for min 2 months. So do ur math and if it works out yes you can get M4B. Its the best CC as of now.

Even if I open a new account with Burgundy status, I have to wait for 3months?
How about Salary account, as soon as I switch to Axis, can I apply for Magnus if I satisfy the salary criteria?

Thanks for your help

yes, right approach

I am still with Axis Magnus for Burgundy as my primary card for almost every transaction. Unfortunately I had to pay 35k for the card fees but I am able to recover that with Accor Points.

Just do the basic math for points you have vs the fees you have to pay. Plus you get to have the airport lounges benefits with it.

Salary criteria is 3L a month or 30L balance throughout the month to get true burgundy customer status. When you have successfully converted into Burgundy, you need to wait for some time to get Magnus for Burgundy as they wait for One Glance Statement to be generated every month.

It's a long shot if you can wait.
