Tata Neu UPI from Different phone

Hi,
I have a Tata Neu Rupay card in my name, and I use it for UPI payments. I wanted my wife also to use it for her UPI payments from her phone. We both have separate HDFC bank accounts. I understand it's not possible to add my Rupay card to her UPI (unless my sim is there in her phone).
1. If I apply for an add-on card, will the add-on card be linked to her mobile number?
2. Can I make my wife a joint account holder of my Tata Neu credit card & add her number too in that? (I think not possible, just a wild thought)

Afaik, HDFC add on cards are of same card number with different name.
So I don't think that it'll work.

Not possible.
Apply a new UPI credit card for her i.e. Kotak Myntra or any.

UPI needs linked SIM to be present in the device. It is core system requirement.
Only option is to get add-on card linked to the other person's SIM. But only some banks provide this feature. HDFC does not provide this.

Lately, HDFC's policies have changed and they've started providing add on cards with different card no. & CVV. Also, people have been receiving OTPs to add on holder's mobile number.
So, you can try getting an add on card with different card no. which may also get linked to add on holder's upi app.

Which banks provide this feature?

I have given Indusind Bank Rupay CC on UPI Add on Card to my sister and she is able to use her number for Rupay CC on UPI. Also, OTPs are getting delivered to her number along with transaction alerts. Transaction alerts are getting delivered to her email id as well. I can only see all her transactions in Indusind Bank App and Statement.

I don't have SBI Card but i think most of the banks have started issuing different card numbers to Add on Members so that it's easier to link the Rupay Card with UPI App. I have seen this in Indusind bank and IDFC Bank. Not sure about Govt Banks.

For Bob addon rupay different phone number can be selected and the addon card can be added to that numbers upi.

As for Tata Neu card different card number for add on, but while trying to add it to upi says server error. Will try again and update.

Has this changed recently?
Around April 2023 I had a joint account from BOB but they said separate numbers can’t be added as the system is designed in such a way. Branch executives confirmed the same is applicable for addon cards (credit & debit) as well.

Yes. My family members could link Bob add on to their upi.
